As one family in the Bukas Loob sa Diyos Community, we thank You, Lord, for the gift of Pope Francis, a simple, humble, and faithful shepherd of Your Church.

In his teachings and actions, he challenged us and awakened our hearts to think beyond the normal. At times, his teachings disturbed us, but through prayer and reflection, we realized that they led us back to the heart of the Gospel—the call to love, serve, and embrace all people, regardless of who they are, where they come from, their faith or life’s choices. He was an all-embracing shepherd.

Now that he is gone, may his life continue to inspire the Church that we likewise walk in the footsteps of Jesus, with simplicity, humility, mercy, and compassion.

Eternal rest grant upon Pope Francis; may perpetual light shine upon him.
